Meet Our Professionals

Priscilla Leavitt, Ph.D.
Psychologist

Dr. Leavitt is a counseling psychologist with special training and certification in marriage and family counseling, grief and bereavement, hypnosis, stress and Christian counseling. She speaks and conducts seminars, offers EAP services to business and does counseling and Executive Coaching in addition to the extensive individual and group counseling she does at the Center.

Are you living the life you want to live? If not, Dr. Leavitt may be the person to see.

Nothing pleases Dr. Leavitt more than seeing people in pain who want to feel better. She is an accomplished listener who can sift through muddled thoughts and feelings and help people choose to change. When you experience the power of choice, you will never be the same.

After an initial evaluation, you can choose what you want to do, be or feel and together you and Dr. Leavitt can discover how to achieve it. She will help you to look at your feelings and problems differently, teach you new skills necessary to achieve your goals or help you remove blocks of fear and hurt that have prevented you from living successfully.

Individual therapy provides some of the needed one-on-one attention required to get at the source of overwhelming or long-standing problems. Dr. Leavitt specializes in working with grief and bereavement issues, early childhood trauma, stress, anxiety and depression. She uses hypnosis as well as hypnotherapy.

Couples and family counseling focuses on solving relationship problems and helping couples talk to each other from the heart. Attacking, defending and avoiding behaviors can be replaced with honest communication and problem-solving when the relationship becomes safe. She works with couples individually and in groups.

Group therapy offers almost unlimited potential and support. Dr. Leavitt has run groups for men, women, teens and ucouples. She has offered groups to help people become more assertive, reduce stress and adjust to loss.

As a professional speaker, Dr. Leavitt also presents seminars, classes, lectures and published works on a variety of topics; such as stress, assertive communication, grief and bereavement and motivating employees. She has presented for hospitals, schools, agencies, businesses and professional organizations. Ask her about her "stress dots".

If you go by her office, you might hear a burst of laughter, because Dr. Leavitt loves her clients and her work. She gets excited when she sees their strengths - often when they cannot - and offers hope and encouragement easily. She sincerely believes it is a privilege to share their journey for a brief time.
